What Is Amitriptyline 50mg Used For?
• Major depressive disorder — 50 mg starting dose, titrated upward
• Neuropathic pain — diabetic neuropathy, post‑herpetic neuralgia

• Nocturnal enuresis — children 11+ years (25–50 mg)
Important Safety Information
• Suicide risk: monitor closely in young adults (under 25) during early treatment.
• Cardiac: contraindicated post‑MI, heart block, arrhythmias.
• MAOIs: 14‑day washout required.
• Serotonin syndrome: avoid with other serotonergic agents.
Who Should Not Take Amitriptyline 50mg?
Avoid if you have:
